Program Objectives
Here are our direct program objectives for the children in Haiti.
Increase Access to Education
- Provide financial support for school tuition, uniforms, supplies, and transportation to ensure children can attend school consistently.
- Partner with local schools to enhance the quality of education, focusing on curriculum enrichment and extra-curricular activities
Create Safe Spaces
- Establish after-school programs that offer safe, supervised environments where children can engage in educational, recreational, and social activities.
- Implement community centers that serve as safe havens, offering structured activities and support.
Mentorship and Guidance
- Recruit and train local mentors who can provide guidance, support, and positive role models for children at risk of gang involvement.
- Organize workshops and discussions on conflict resolution, self-esteem, and making positive life choices.
Community Awareness and Involvement
- Foster community engagement to raise awareness about the impacts of gang violence and the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and violence.
- Collaborate with local leaders, parents, and community organizations to advocate for children's rights and educational access.
Psychosocial Support
- Provide psychological support services, including counseling for children traumatized by violence, to help them cope and build resilience
- Offer workshops focused on emotional intelligence, stress management, and coping strategies.
